Chapter Three of the book showcases Omani craft artefacts in a catalogue format, which provides an invaluable source of reference for scholars, collectors and those interested in traditional crafts in general. The catalogue, a representative cross section of the work of Omani artisans, is divided according to craft category and includes gold and silverwork, weaponry, copperwork, woodwork, basketry and palm work, leatherwork, weaving, embroidery and costume, pottery, and bone and stone. It draws on important collections, both public and private, with objects selected not just for beauty but for functional value and importance to lifestyles and Omani tradition.
